Exercising on the go

Traveling? Not sure what to do to keep fit when you’re not at home? Here are some exercises you can do while you’re away…

The Obvious:

  • Sit-ups
  • Push ups (regular, Spiderman, dive bomb, triangle, jack knife, etc.)
  • Dips (on a bed, chair, desk, etc.)
  • Squats
  • Jumping jacks (regular, linear, diagonal)
  • Vertical jumping (frog jumps)
  • Run in place (regular, high knees, heels to butt)
  • Plank (regular, side, rotational plank push-up)

In a Park:

  • Pull-ups
  • L-hangs (on a bar)
  • Toes-to-bar
  • Dips
  • Run
  • Walking lunges

More Difficult:

  • Handstand push ups
  • Jumping squats
  • Jumping lunges
  • Burpees (regular, w/jumping jacks, w/lifting something heavy)
  • Mountain climbers
  • Jumping rope

Remember to take advantage of hotel gym rooms, pools, and outdoor walking trails.

Always stretch and drink extra water when traveling.

It’s easy to throw a resistance band or two and a jump rope into your luggage so you have something more to work with…
